In South Florida right now, there are many “Notable projects” to choose from, but only one really leaps out as the leader, and that project is The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Many of you may have heard of this project regarded as “The Guitar Hotel” and as you see from the pictures here, it is magnificent and grand in scale! This project is not only just a High Profile project, it also has many unique facets in the design and architecture. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino posed many unique challenges and opportunities for SCC; not only it gave us a chance to perform and show our capabilities, it gave us the opportunity to gain some new customers, and to reacquaint us with some old, but not forgotten customers as well. Another unique facet is that there are several projects within the project, meaning there is the entire project, but it is separated into sections, such as the Low-Rise Expansion, the Pool Tower, the East Tower, Hard Rock Live, the Meeting Room etc. “I am proud to say that SCC has met every challenge offered. Dispatching and the Sales Team has been stellar, but it has been our Field Operators who have risen to the challenge at every corner, and performed incredibly, with some very challenging and trying situations given to them.” The project General Contractor(s) are Suffolk-Yates, JV, both of whom SCC has done work for in the past, especially Suffolk Construction. We have performed pretty much with every tool we have, ranging from simple Core Drilling, GPR scanning, Chipping, Scarifying, Wire-Sawing, Track-Sawing, Bank-of-Blades slab elevation reduction, you name it, we have performed it on this project. We have had about 12 total operators badged for this project and at times, all 12 were on the site at the same time. Needless to say, this has been a challenging project, not only for scheduling, but for some of the tasks we were requested to perform. The Operators on this project have been many, but the staples here have been, Lavelle Watkins, Cameron Jeff, Ricky Ysidro, Tommy Flanagan, Coy Allison, Jason Frank, Mat Stepniak and John Rochez. I am proud of the job all of our Operators have done on this project, these men have stood up and taken charge on all their individual work responsibilities here! Since coming onboard to the project we have handled scopes directly from Suffolk-Yates, JV but were also working for many great subcontractors like American Engineering, Tri-City Electrical, Hill-York, Brightview Landscaping, JWA Construction Group, Edwards Electric, Liberty-Conshor, Baker Concrete, and many, many more. We want to thank them for choosing Speedy and for continuing to partner with us on this amazing project. #notableprojects #construction #concretecutting
