Hello from South Florida, where the summers are long and the humidity is so thick you can cut it with a Hand-Saw!! We are running at full speed here at the home office and booking about 7 days out at the moment!! We have several large projects in progress, beginning with the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for Suffolk-Yates, JV, The Miami Signature Bridge project for Archer-Western DeMoya JV, the I-95 Express lane project for Prince Contracting (formerly Dragados) and several others that have our guys working diligently to complete. We have had several trainees come aboard and depart, so to speak, but we are diligently training a couple now that appear to have what it takes to become excellent Field Operators here at SCC. I would like to welcome aboard two new employees here in Ft. Lauderdale, Ms. Nicole Fernandez, who has taken on the position of GPR Scanning Specialist, and will be traveling to the satellite offices to train and assimilate our designated GPR Scanning Operators and also doing some scanning and Core Drilling here when needed. Nicole has many years advanced training and experience in GPR Scanning and has quickly found a home here at SCC. We have also hired Ms.Darlene Quinones who has come aboard to become Ft. Lauderdale’s new Business Development Manager. Darlene comes to SCC with several years of experience in the concrete cutting industry and has really taken charge of her new position with SCC. Welcome aboard ladies and here’s to many successful years here with SCC!! As we all know, summer stays in South Florida longer than most places and the heat and humidity linger. So please be extremely aware of staying hydrated while we try and survive these final months of the heat. Drink plenty of fluids, not just water, but electrolyte enriched drinks, such as Gatorade and Pedialyte. Eat fruit like bananas and oranges, to supply you with the needed vitamins and potassium you expend everyday out in the field. Until next time, stay cool and keep the blades spinning! #homefront
