Dog Days of Summer

The dog days of summer are here and in full swing!! The days are longer and without a doubt much hotter!! The sales team has been working hard to keep everyone out working steady. We have had several nice projects, including but not limited to, the Port of Miami Entrance barrier wall cutting for Odebrecht, with John A., Donovan A., Tommy F. & Jason F., getting the 80’ of wall cut, removed and all the slurry up and off site, in one night! Odebrecht was more than happy, saying that it looked as if we were not even there!! Also Mat S., John A., and Mike W., just finished up another high profile project on I-95 for Construction Services taking out some 18”-36” thick railing. We have just started another round of cutting the tarmac slab at Ft. Lauderdale Airport, for Central Florida Equipment, with Mat S., Lavelle W. & Jimmy E. doping the bulk of that cutting. We have recently had two projects where upon our completion, our customers felt compelled to take the time out of their busy schedules to write emails, both rather lengthy I might add, to express their gratitude and appreciation for the work our Operators put forth on their respective projects. Now, looking at this in the grand scheme of life, it doesn’t seem to be such a big deal, but in Speedy World, and to me, it means everything!! Granted, we get several job tickets turned in with “Atta-Boys” written on them, from customers, but the fact that they took the time to write a lengthy email message, to say what a great job our guys did, says a lot about not only the Operator, who went above and beyond for them, but really to Speedy as a whole, considering there was more than one email, and several Operators involved. So take a moment to let that sink in and pat yourselves on the back for several jobs well done. We all know how tough a job cutting is, and we also hear all the customer complaints, which makes this a little more gratifying, when a customer takes that time to write a nice letter of appreciation & acknowledgement, for a job well done!! Until next month, keep the blades spinning!!! #homefront #newsworthy #keepthebladesspinning
